Marine animals

I started to feel quite sick today. My head is aching and I have a fever. So since I can't do anything but lay in bed I decided to upload some pictures of the museum that we went to during our holidays last week. Here you go.

Winterholidays (in a summerhouse)

Most of the Summerhouses in Denmark are close to the beach and rented most of the time but the owners often use it as weekendhouse or for their holidays as well. The staff booked two houses at the westcoast for the winterholidays with the students. All of those students who are not going home for the holidays spent the week in one of them. So we actually spend our winterholidays in a summerhouse which is kind of ironic but quite normal in Denmark.

Both of the houses had a pool, a whirlpool as well as a Sauna. We went for a walk, made a few trips to go shopping or to a museum, but most of the time we were just hanging out in the house, relaxing and enjoying the holidays.

It is so nice to see the students in a completely different atmosphere compared to their daily life in school. Their behaviour and reactions are so different when they can do everything in their own timing. And it is nice as well to actually have a lot of time to pump the staff for information about the students, their work or Denmark in general.

But the week went by fast and now so this morning Tania and me were driving home in a caddy filled with 1) our own luggage, 2) the luggage that the students are going to take home with them today and 3) lots of food to have lunch when we get back. All of the cars were supposed to arrive at home around 12 am the latest, because some of the students were taking their bus home at 1 pm and they had to have lunch before. So I turned on the navigation system and drove home. Usually it should only have taken around two hours to get back but I was quite tired so I was really happy to see on my screen that there were only 20 minutes left. We were driving next to the see and the weather was beautiful. A few seconds later, the land in front of us seemed to dissapear until there was nothing but water in front of us. I could see the land on the other side of the Fjord, knowing that this was the right direction and we had to be very close to Løgstør but well aware of the fact that I was driving a car - not a boat. Apparently my navigation system wanted to lead me to the other side of the Fjord by using a ferry. You should have seen our faces. So we wrote our colleges, noticing that we had the food and the luggage of the students in our bag. We drove half the way back to Skive to finally drive home. When we arrived in the school they had already bought new food and had lunch, hoping that we would arrive soon enough so the students could take home their luggage.

Black forrest time

Last sunday I took the train from Frankfurt to the south of Germany (area of the black forrest) where I spent the week together with my boyfriend and his family. Once again it was the most awesome week with him. We were out eating, walked the dogs, cooked dinner for his familiy, visited his church community and made trips to the biggest waterfall in Germany and the second biggest waterfall in Europe which is located in Switzerland. Here are some pictures of the waterfalls. I really loved to spend some time with him and his family at his place and - like always- it was quite hard to say goodbye again. But we'll spend Eastern together, so now the countdown starts again. Six weeks left.

Once again above the clouds

Although I didn't plan to fly back to Germany so shortly after the Christmas holidays, I had the option to go back home another time. So that's what I did today. I flew from Aalborg to Frankfurt were I was picked up at the airport by my mother. I am going to spend a lovely weekend here with my parents until I continue my trip to the south of Germany on Sunday evening.
